The PIR sensor module, also known as the Passive Infrared sensor, is a highly cost-effective device that can efficiently detect the presence of both humans and animals in its vicinity. With its versatile output pins, Vcc, Output, and Ground, this HC-SR501 PIR sensor module can be seamlessly integrated with multiple platforms like Raspberry, Arduino, ARM, PIC, 8051, and others.
With a vast input voltage range of 4.5V to 12V (5V recommended), this sensor offers high/low output voltage (3.3V TTL) and can differentiate between the movement of humans and other objects. It features two distinct operating modes - Repeatable(H) and Non-Repeatable (H) and can cover a distance of 7 meters and a range of 120°. Incredibly energy-efficient, this PIR sensor module has a low power consumption of 65mA, and its operating temperature range is between -20° Celsius to +80° Celsius.
Pin Number | Pin Name | Description |
1 | Vcc | Input voltage is +5V for typical applications. Can range from 4.5V- 12V |
2 | High/Low Ouput (Dout) | Digital pulse high (3.3V) when triggered (motion detected) digital low(0V) when idle(no motion detected |
3 | Ground | Connected to ground of circuit |
